Tee, “Here, take a sip”
High up in
the heavens, a dark day made darker
As the sun
looked down upon earth threateningly
Wearing a face
of fierce, fresh, flowing molten magma
From an
angry volcano, erupted in flowery, flamy flares
Menacingly spraying
poisonous ashes sky high in directions
Puffing,
scorching, charring, sharing death wantonly in a crawl
Snaking rivers
of destruction upon innocence on unplanned paths
Hearts dislodged
from safe cages, take positions in scared throats
Struggling
to climb onto thousands of tongues in distilled fear
As terror sparkles
in terrified eyes, like fireworks on display
Chaos,
pandemonium all across the land of many a mind
Stormy
collage of scenes, jumping in and out, quaking
Seems like the
unwelcome Armageddon, told of aye
It’s naught,
but fake devastations, devil-inspired
One starts the
count as anxiety takes center stage
Breaths are
held, occasioned by bumpy anticipations
It’s been
done before, three times with detailed accuracy
Can there
ever be a change, so truth prevails over falsehood?
Many asked
as prayers offered vanquish oppressive evil schemes
Carefully
planned for execution, but countered by birds in torrents
Millions in
flight, casting stones of light on darkened souls, obliterating
Suddenly,
like the Big Bang that started it all for this universal sojourn
Ecstatic euphoria
as celebrations unprecedented fills up the streets
Shouts of
joy, praises, voices rent the air from Maiduguri to Lagos
Car honks, blares
declaring a grim battle fought, landslide won
Bayelsa to
Sokoto set aglow with colorful acrobatic dancers
Gyrating to
music of various sort rhyming in one harmony
Giving birth
to renewed hope of a new nation, NIGERIA.
