There seems to be no end to the on-going impasse between Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) on one hand and their employer Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) on the other.

In fact things have gotten from bad to worst, to the point where FG has sacked all its 16, 000 doctors. We are now a nation that has been running for about 2 months or more without medical doctors in our public hospitals.

It is learnt that some of their grudges has to do with certain issues that has to do with their fellow colleages (nurses, pharmacists, physiotherapists, anaesthesists etc) in the healthcare sector.

Well, as poets it is issues like this that often excite our muse, inspiring us to let flow our ink. Thus the following haikus for the striking doctors, most especially those who had no genuine reasons to subject the poor populace to wanton anguish, distress, pains and even deaths, all in pursuit of their personal gains.

Poetic Tee "Here, take a sip", the persona has presented 14 Haiku poems, each a voice of one of our people. There are much more of such victimized voices. These are only a few.

This is part of our responsibilities as bards. We are the channel through which the voices of our people are heard. Their feelings are amplified and echoed through us.

The Haikus here presented are documented and shared sufferings of our people as experienced from this doctors strike action.

Just heard that Doctors have called-off the 2 months long strike action. Only God Knows how many persons have been victimised or died as a result, due to no fault whatsover of theirs.

Well, "Diaris God o! Diaris God o!" Indeed, there is God!
