Anniversary Book Launch with Fiona Lovatt.

 

Book Launch: 

 BEYOND HORIZONS is the title of the book published by SoundWord & Sight Communications Ltd to commemorate the 10th Year Anniversary of Kwandala Foundation. The book project which chronicles projects of the Kwandala Foundation from its very first one i.e. Kwandala4Tsunami 2005 up to the very latest one Kwandala4S/GariMarketFireDisasterVictims (Introduction part) was formally Launched by Lady Fiona Lovatt of Lovatt Foundation, an NGO that caters for the Almajiri. Prof Umar Pate of BUK was the Chairman of the Occasion. Ibrahim Shuaibu Tukuntawa together with Goni Mohammed and some other intellectuals worked in the Editorial Sub-Committee which saw to its proper composition. Copies would soon be made available for public possession.

Hajia Amina Haruna Shanono, Director SUBEB handing over one of the Scholarship Award letters to Miss Kassim Abba Dand...ago who successful passed the screening exercise that made her a beneficiary. This ceremony took place at Murtala Muhammad Library on DAY 2 (Saturday 02/04/16) of the Celebrations. We congratulate all receipients and pray they keep ip the good job, which will ensure their enjoying the offer continously till they complete their education in sha Allaah.

10th Anniversary Poetry Competition

KWANDALA 10TH YEAR ANNIVERSARY POETRY COMPETITION is the maiden edition of an exciting literary quest for excellence in writing one of the 3 genres of Literature.

It was made part of the Foundation's celebration events by Arc. Tijjani M. M. a poet popularly known as Poetic Tee with his famous invite "Here, take a sip" in order to encourage up and coming poets to engage in healthy and motivating competition, thus helping to develop their talents and confidence better.

Because the competition was open to the public, all were entitled to participate and could you believe it, a university professor ask if he could make a submission and once cleared, he submitted what ended up becoming the winning entry, thus taking home the 1st Prize of N10,000!

Barr. Hassana Bashir (in red mini hijab), a member of Kwandala Foundation Chairpersoned organizing the event, with special assistance from Zaharaddeen Ibrahim Kallah who played the vital role of Secretary to the Poetry Sub-Committee can be seen with FIDA Chairperson Kano Chapter Barr. Husaina Aliyu Ibrahim, who graced the occasion.

We hereby wish to congratulate Dr. Saka Aliyu of BUK who emerged our first ever winner of Kwandala Foundation Poetry Contest... :D
