DO NOT BE SAD "Because, it is not worth it" ~ is an inspirational radio program on a spiritual tip. Hosted by yours truly on Dala 88.5 FM, Kano. Have you heard it yet?
Last time on the 8:00pm prompt Friday night interactive session, we looked at 3 burning things and discussed them with listeners contributing opinions via LIVE phone-in within the time limit:
i) Lack of Islamic Knowledge among our graduates and educated elites, yet they come on social and other media to express their minds ignorantly on Islamic contemporary issues.
ii) What does Islam say about rape in marriage? Is it recognized in the Quran and Hadith, just like it is being advocated by feminists, women rights groups or in the west?
iii) What's the first thing you do when faced with a peace threatening, life challenging matter? Who do you turn to at the onset of your troubles? Is it Allah first or Allah last?
Among the callers were males and females each expressing their gratitude for the program. It has afore times been a ladies favorite presentation. They phone-in more.
One of them said he was in a sad and very depressive mood, hating life and everyone around him. You need to hear him wAllaah! So passionate about his predicament. Only for him to tune in and catch my voice talking.
After listening in for a while, he felt instantly relieved of his anger, annoyance, sadness, distress and even more. So he called in to thank Allaah and us for the comforting, yet exciting hour.
Bold and incisive, Do Not Be Sad (DNBSad) will be addressing topical issues and spotlighting the Islamic perspective vis a vis the western or secular points of view about them.
