Chinenye Osinachi Egwu's WHY WORMS ARE PATIENT

#FoundPoetry

(As found by Poetic Tee "Here, take a sip"

The worms are patient
They see no need to
Devour humans
Still alive
Still working hard
Still stressing themselves.

The worms
Have no need, for stress
They like serenity so
Man can do
All he likes
For now.

They only watch
From their hiding places
Waiting
O how they wait
Until he is pronounced dead
shrouded, buried.

Then, they call for a feast
Menu: his decomposing body.
They are going nowhere
So, they wait.
They wait patiently
For the dead are theirs.

No one is competing
No, not with them
Over ownership of the dead
Even death itself
Of course
Their benefactor.
